Mo’men Shtayeh probably owns a John Cena shirt, the WWE wrestler who the Palestinian kids hero worship, their shrill voices echoing in neighborhood streets of Cena’s catchphrase, “You can’t see me!” accompanied with waving a hand in front of their faces.
Mo’men Shtayeh has seen and knows too much. There is a chance — nay, a probability — that due to witnessing the Israeli army’s brutality and severe oppression in his village of Kufr Qaddoum, Mo’men might have grown up to be a warmongering Islamist (or perversely, a Tea Partier).
Mo’men Shtayeh represents a threat to the security of the Israeli racist occupying state. Apparently, it is well known that due to his savvy nature, Mo’men has been involved in drawing up specialized blueprints to attack enemy bases.
So it all makes perfect sense that the most moral army in the world, the Israeli Defense Forces, the fourth strongest army, the upholders of the beacon of democracy and godly light, tried to arrest Mo’men on Monday, 2 April.
The thing is, Mo’men is two-and-a-half years old.
Murad Shtayeh, the coordinator of the popular resistance committeee in Kufr Qaddoum and the father of little Mo’men, told The Electronic Intifada that heavily armed Israeli soldiers raided his house on Monday at 5:30pm. Two soldiers remained outside, two others went in the house, shouting they were going to arrest Mo’men.
“Mo’men was going inside the house,” Murad said, “when the soldiers suddenly took off from where they had been standing. They came running to the house like they were in a marathon, very fast and urgent, like a bunch of crazies.”
The soldiers claimed that Mo’men had not a nuclear warhead, or a submachine gun, but the most dangerous item in the world — a slingshot.
“Of course Mo’men didn’t have a slingshot in his hands!” scoffed Murad. “And even if he did, so what? He’s a kid.” For crying out loud.
The soldiers were adamant that Mo’men hand over his slingshot (which he doesn’t own) because he was using it to aim at the soldiers. What’s more, they wanted Mo’men to hand himself over to them too.
Bashar Shtayeh, Murad’s cousin, was also present at the scene. “The soldiers in the house drew their weapons and pointed them at the family,” he said, “threatening them that they would not leave unless Mo’men was handed over to them.”
A loud, angry arugment persisted for half an hour between Murad, other villagers who had come to see what the commotion was all about, and the soldiers. The soldiers then left, having cemented yet another moral meltdown in the occupation’s history. Not that they had morals in the first place.
But what of the toddler? Needless to say, Mo’men was terrified by what was going on around him.
“What can I say, of course he’s affected by this,” Murad said. “He was very scared. He’s doing slightly better now.”
Kufr Qaddoum began its weekly popular resistance protests in June 2011, against the encroaching illegal settlement of Qedumim that is built on the village’s land and to open the main village road that leads directly to Nablus.
The Israeli oppression against Kufr Qaddoum doesn’t just happen on Fridays. It occurs on a daily basis.
“Obviously, they thought this stunt — whether carried through or not — would serve as a punishment for us, but the truth is that it will not deter us from our protests,” Murad declared.
“Every day and night we have five to seven soldiers in the village harrassing us. Sometimes they come in with their dogs and fetch cars and houses. Yesterday [Tuesday] at 9:30pm the soldiers set up a checkpoint on one of the inner streets of the village.”
Mo’men Shtayeh, your little two-and-a-half-year-old self highlighted the absurdity, the idiocy, the shameful nature of the Israeli occupying army. May the force of John Cena be with you.

Israel’s interrogation of Islam Dar Ayyoub Tamimi, age 14: video reveals rights abuses

A year ago on January 23, 14-year-old Islam Dar Ayoub Tamimi was arrested at gunpoint after the Israeli army surrounded his house at around 1:30am. A few days before, on January 17, Islam’s house was one of many in the village of Nabi Saleh that were raided by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF), where the soldiers then proceeded to take pictures of all males over the age of 12.
A month later, Islam’s younger brother eleven year old Kareem was chased down and hauled off by the Israeli police where he was illegally interrogated for two hours before getting released.
During his arrest, Islam was taken out of bed at gunpoint and violently taken to a military jeep, handcuffed and blindfolded. His brother Omar (who remains in detention after getting arrested during the West Bank car protest on Israeli only roads earlier this month) was beaten up as he tried to help Islam.
According to an email interview with Israeli anti-occupation activist Jonathan Pollak:
The military judge, Major Sharon Livnin, ruled that Islam’s confession despite his unlawful interrogation was legitimate enough to be used as evidence in the trial of Bassem Tamimi:
“In my opinion, the infringement on the defendant’s rights in this concrete case, did not amount to a violation of his right in a way that will sufficiently endanger his right to a fair trial […].”
The Popular Struggle website outlies some of the ways Islam’s rights were violated:
At 1:15, one of the interrogators accuses Islam that he along with other youth were throwing stones at Israeli army jeeps and participating in protests, which are “against the law” and (at 2:30) a “breach of public security.” The same interrogator (at 2:58) then proceeds to tell Islam that he has a right to see a lawyer, but that if he chooses not to answer any questions, that can be further used as solidified evidence against him in court. At 3:29 the interrogator says, “You’re a little boy. Inshallah [God willing] we’ll finish with the interrogation soon, but we want you to tell us all the right things. Understand? We’ll show you pictures of people throwing rocks, including you.”
Almost half an hour later, a third interrogator joins the room. Islam is in the middle of explaining an injury to his leg sustained during one of the protests.
At 4:40 Islam gives the name and age of one of the youths in the village. The third interrogator punches his hand into his fist. The video goes to another interval, where one of the interrogators cuts off Islam, who is in the middle of describing how the youth hide in houses when the army surrounds them, by calling them as mice. The third interrogator says in his rolling accent, “Like Tom and Jerry.” He then suddenly shouts, “Those poor things! Those unfortunates!”
At 5:59, the same interrogator snaps at Islam not to breathe in his face. Islam replies that he hasn’t slept. At 6:39 the interrogator asks Islam what the job of the first “brigade” was, before snickering that he was going to catch the flu from Islam.
At 7:05, another interrogator enters the room. At 7:30 Islam announces he wants to go home because of his school exams.
At 7:50 one of the interrogators asks Islam how many people were in each brigade.
At 8:28 Islam asks if the latest interrogator is the one responsible for taking him home.
At 9:18, after almost three hours (2 hours and 42 minutes to be exact) of interrogation, the psychological stress becomes all too evident as Islam breaks down into tears. When asked why he’s crying, Islam replies that he’s afraid he’s going to fail his school year. He elaborates, “If I fail then the school won’t let me come back to repeat the year.”
At 11:08 The interrogator asks, “What did he tell them?” Islam replies, his voice wobbling, “He told us to wait at the intersection and to take the cardboards to the shrine. We’d take them to Uncle Naji and Uncle Bassem without knowing what was in them. Motasem wanted to know what was in them so once he opened one and found gas masks.”
At 11:39, a new addition is in the room: the only qualified female youth interrogator.
At 12:43, the interrogator that rolls his R’s slaps Islam’s shoulders, saying “You’re happy that the officers got hit by stones, right?”
At 13:35 the interrogators order Islam to raise his head and to sit up straight, telling him that it will all be over soon. Islam’s been in interrogation for more than four hours at this point.
At 13:55 Islam asks when the interrogation will be over. One of the interrogators replies, “In half an hour. We have to first check if what you said is all true, and then we’ll see what will happen. I don’t want to see you here again.”
At 14:35 the interrogator flicks Islam’s arms, which are resting his head, and tells him to raise his head up. “When the interrogator is in the room, raise your head up. Yell at him. And if possible, you beat him up!”
The other interrogator shows Islam a photograph and asks him who the person in it is.
After more than five hours of interrogation, Islam yawns and asks for the time. It’s 2:30 pm, answers the interrogator. Islam turns to the stoic female interrogator and tells her he hasn’t slept since yesterday.
At 15:12, Islam is left alone with the female interrogator. He asks if it’s over yet. She replies, “in a little bit.” Islam then asks her if she’s Israeli or an Arab. She answers, “What do you think? I speak Arabic. I’m an Arab.”
“What are you doing here?”
“I work.”
“You work as what?”
“Just work.”
At 16:52, Islam yawns, “Please God, take me home. I am so tired.”
Islam’s unlawful interrogation was used to incriminate and arrest Bassem and Naji Tamimi, who are actively involved in Nabi Saleh’s weekly popular resistance protests, a couple of months later in March. Nabi Saleh began its protest back in December 2009, after settlers from the illegal settlement of Halamish built upon the village’s land further expropriated the village’s main water supply and spring, Al-Kaws. Naji agreed to a plea bargain, and was subsequently sentenced to a year in prison plus a 20,000 shekel fine. Bassem refused to do the same, and has still not been sentenced, despite spending ten months behind bars since his arrest. When Islam was put on the stand in court in November 2011, he admitted that he had given false testimony due to the immense pressure he was under before and during his interrogation.
Back in late November last year, I sat with Bassem’s wife, Nariman Tamimi, who talked about her husband’s trial, the baseless charges against him, why Naji accepted the deal and Bassem didn’t, and the weekly protests in Nabi Saleh in the video below. She rejects labeling her husband or Naji as “leaders of the protests”, maintaining that this was the characterization given to them by the Israeli authorities in order to accuse them of the charges, as any child participating in the protests is capable of leading. She contents that she doesn’t “recognize the occupier’s right to exist to recognize the legitimacy of their courts” and that she attends the trials because she wants to see her husband who “is my best friend and partner.” When asked about Bassem’s morale, Nariman replies, “He’s always been so strong and optimistic. His spirits are so high and make you stronger, instead of the opposite.”

Islam was then taken to a military base in the nearby Jewish-only settlement of Halamish, where he was kept outside in the cold, still blindfolded and handcuffed, and was not allowed any sleep. He was then taken to a police station in the Mishor Edomim settlement for questioning, where he arrived at around 8:00 in the morning.
He was asked to sign a document in Hebrew, but it was a (flawed) summery of his interrogation. This happened after he was finally allowed to see his lawyer, and he refused to sign it. The video shows that the Hebrew document was read to him in Arabic before he was asked to sign it.
After his interrogation he was taken to Ofer, and then, a few days after to Rimonim prison (which is part of Hasharon prison complex), which is a detention center for minors. To the best of my knowledge, he was imprisoned together with other Palestinians, not Israel criminal prisoners.
The judge didn’t admit Islam was under psychological pressure and felt threatened per se, but rather wrote that indeed his rights were violated (which in some cases, would have rendered his testimony inadmissible) but that in this specific case, from looking at the tape, it seems he was treated well during the interrogation and spoke of his own free will. [In other words] she believes that the impact of the violations on him, in this specific case, was not severe enough.
Islam was released on 4 April 2011, after 71 days in detention, but remained under full house arrest. The conditions of his house arrest were changed at the beginning of the school year (in September) so that he is allowed to go to school. He still remains under partial house arrest.

Hundreds of Foreigners Plan to Visit Palestine
They answered the call of 15 Palestinian civil society organizations where they will take part in a week full of activism. Unfortunately, the only Palestine they'll be able to see is the West Bank. And this is such a hard thing for us to write, because what do you call a Palestine that was taken over by Zionists with the full backing of a superpower and used violent methods to systematically ethnically cleanse, or drive over half of the indigenous population to mostly neighboring countries which created more problems which then culminated in a huge diaspora problem, and that "move" was so sudden and expected at least on that indigenous population's side to last no more than a few months, which meant that the homes and villages and towns of these people, complete with furniture and clothes and assorted knick-knacks were either readily taken over by Jewish immigrants or razed to the ground for commercial reasons (shame on ANY Palestinian, especially those who get all giddy about finally acquiring the special permit to visit Jerusalem and then buy overpriced clothes from the Canyon Mall, which is built on the demolished site of the Malha village), and so with the complicit nature of the international committee a new astonishingly racist state, fodder for the white man in the west, came into being and then other complications were mixed in such as that new state's absolute right to every inch of Palestine plus a part of Egypt plus Jordan plus Syria plus Lebanon plus Iraq based on messianic revelations in an ancient text ET CETERA ET CETERA. The five hundred+ villages and eleven urban neighborhoods that were wiped out of any traces of the Palestinians exist in this new state as national parks, christened settlements, or "historic" sites of Israel. The two state solution is dead and buried under mounds and mounds of mockery, subcontracted occupation, and yellow negotiations, so jumping ahead to the optimistic future a bit, what will this one state be called? Israel/Palestine? Palestine/Israel? Did Gaddafi have it right when he proposed to name the country "Israfil?" Israel is a reality of course, but that doesn't make it any easier to call villages and cities and towns in their Judaized names (Yafa>Yafo, Akka>Akko, Aelia/Beit Salem/Al-Quds>Yorshaylim..) or refer to our grandparents' homes as part of Israeli territory. Nevertheless, these foreigners who also go by the dangerous incriminating name of pro-Palestinian activists, number between 700 to 1500, and are due to arrive with peaceful intentions this Friday July 8th at the Ben Gurion airport, where they will clearly inform the Israeli authorities that they are here solely to visit the Palestinian territories and will stress on the part that the only means through to them is via this airport since Israel controls all border crossings and restricts the freedom of movement for Palestinians and other solidarity activists.
The reaction from Israel has been hilarious and unsurprising. Netanyahu wasted absolutely no time in growling out that these activists (he was just a breath short of calling them terrorists or terrorist sympathizers) are a threat to Israel and undermine Israel's right to exist. His responses to anything pro-Palestine are boring; is there anything in his book that doesn't undermine Israel's right to exist? The flotilla must be stopped because they will give Khamas nuclear warheads to annihilate Israel. Yawn. Couldn't he have livened up his statement by adding a creative twist, something about how these activists are disguised as peace-loving humanitarians but are in reality a special elite force of the Shinossad (Shin Bet + Mossad), planning to infiltrate the Palestinian territories in order to take down whatever germinating popular resistance against Israel? And then, let your imagination run wild in planning out different scenarios for why the Shinossad are to be met with such hostility.
Despite the activists stating their peaceful intentions, they are still treated by Israeli security forces as bomb strapped hooligans. Apparently, being a pro-Palestinian activist automatically means that one must be a raving, violent lunatic with murderous intentions, a bit like a watered down version of Baruch Goldstein. All the activists are interested in is going through the passport control room, stating "We are here to visit the Palestinian territories" and then proceed out of the airport, into their buses and taxis, and off to said Palestinian territories. But no, everyone is in hysterics, Israeli public security will establish a special operations room in the airport in honor of those provocative terrorist sympathizers, with "representatives from the Foreign Ministry, the Aviation Authority, the Internal Security Ministry, police representatives, Prime Minister's Office officials and others" to officially monitor, hassle, interrogate, and deport said wannabe camel-jockeys.
Israel, in a major breakthrough, identified more than 300 of those activists and put little black circles next to their names. Which then led to deceased security in the airport, because the Israeli Transportation Ministry twisted the arms of the countries the activists are flying out from who barred them from flying to Israel.

Point is, the democratic state of Israel is shaking. After one pillar gets knocked down, the others will follow. And not because of a 99.9% unlikely Iranian war or the Khamas tinpot homemade rockets, but because of its own increasingly desperate self-destructive attempts to save its image and reputation of a Jewish-made land of milk and honey with beautiful liberal minded people and fine upholding standards on every societal level. It seems that it's obvious to everyone except neo-cons and crazies that this tactic is in fact achieving the opposite effect and is polarizing Israel even more. The international community is slowly rousing from its bogged down silence and are engaging in more solidarity and awareness events to showcase Israel's impunity and atrocities.
We don't think that the hundreds of activists will be allowed through. Maybe a hundred, a couple hundred. Maybe fifty. What are the chances for this flytilla to succeed more than the second flotilla? We don't know. We do know that Israel needs to get with the program, cease its occupation and apartheid policies, stop its fascist methods to discredit anything that doesn't come with a WE LOVE ISRAEL hard-on, and to breathe.

Palestinian Youth Movement(s) Rising
Oh, there they are! Turns out that they were not just a hunger striking one-off group intoxicated by the successes of the revolutions of Egypt and Tunisia, but are in fact building a movement complete with seminars that will educate and teach members and activists the true effectiveness of non-violent resistance. Why don't they have a name though? The Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM) isn't something that is too mind-boggling to come up with. Anyhoo, we are thrilled. One year from now and this movement will have caused some significant positive changes. Well, at least we hope they do.
We knew about the demonstration that was going to take place at Qalandiya but we didn't see the point of going since the usual outcome is always getting tear gassed, and we didn't see how that will help in anything. We believe in effective useful means you see. As it turns out, the rock throwing yesterday started only after the IOF began firing tear gas canisters, and it was mostly from adolescents. Imagine instead, sticking flowers in the guns of those scaredy-pants soldiers. How disarming will that be! Trust us, we are not turning on the sarcasm full wattage here. We honestly want to see these creative non-violent resistance tactics succeed.
Kieron Monks reports that the superficial PA-sponsored festivities around the Manara square were meant to divert from the main effort taking place at Qalandiya. We didn't see any "sea of yellow flags" in Ramallah though.
Maybe then the world can acknowledge Palestinian self-determination. It is so heartening to see Israeli activists taking part in the Nabi Saleh protests. Joseph Dana does a pretty fantastic job documenting what goes on every Friday there. Speaking of which, we hereby introduce you to Zochrot, a little Israeli organization dedicated to the remembrance of the Nakba. The video "highlights the basic psychology of the Israeli public who use the Holocaust to justify their colonization, dispossession, and subjugation of he Palestinians." This kind of free democratic nation houses wax-like scary eye make-up self-acknowledged racists. That is just so weird. The logic here is so clear cut: My family suffered unimaginably during the Holocaust and I have a right to live in this country. Fuck the Palestinians, they didn't have to lose three brothers at the hands of the Nazis!
Mainstream non-violent resistance and a very profound education for both sides. Israelis, Palestinians have a right to live in this country. Palestinians, Israelis are victims of their own governments and theocratic lunatics. There needs to be more independent thinking and critical awareness from the Israeli public, because this is not an equal conflict. There are the oppressors, and there are the oppressed. And as Desmond Tutu once said, "If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality."

Fadi Quran, one of the youth movement's senior figures, defined success by progress. "In the long run, this will be useful for building unity of purpose," he said. "You can see there is more trust between the people, we have the numbers and the connections."
Before the event, the movement had convened seminars to educate youths on strategies of non-violent resistance, as well as providing advice on how to cope with police brutality. The efforts will intensify toward future actions, but the traditional resistance of burning tires and throwing stones will not change overnight.
"We need to give the world a picture of non-violent Palestinian resistance," Quran said.

Palestinian Prisoners Boost the Morale of Israeli Guards
Between 1967 and present time more than 700,000 Palestinians have been detained by the Israeli Occupation Forces. That means that every Palestinian family had or has a member in Israeli prisons. We can certainly testify to that since, as we comfortably type this up on beds with the best mattresses in the country, hardcore revolutionary blood is part of our DNA. The 17th of April is commemorated as Prisoner Day, but the families and friends of the 7000 plus prisoners in Israeli jails and penitentiaries do not think of them once a year, but every single day in all waking moments of their lives. The inhumane conditions of the prisoners must be given more coverage, as most are denied medical access, family visits, subject to torture and humiliation, administrative detentions (the longest being Ayed Dudeen), and held indefinitely without any charge. The facilities are poor; overcrowding is a major problem, and many cells are infested with insects and mice that feast upon the skin of prisoners. If we hear another hypocrite scream "Gilad Shalit"...
Here in Ramallah the demonstration lead to as usual Ofer Prison, which is located just on the outskirts. Before that, one woman was extremely upset that the big poster hung around Manara Square did not have her son's picture on it, and as people tried to calm her down she yelled, "They give the priority to put pictures of the sons of those who work in the PA, they are not better than my son!" We're not going to comment on that but this provides an opening for us to snark at the Palestinian "leadership's" casual throwing away of the cause, conveniently forgetting the prisoners, martyrs, and everyone else who has sacrificed their life in face of oppression and terrorism. The Palestine Papers still ring loudly in our ears.
Women brought their framed pictures of their husbands, fathers, sons, nephews, uncles, grandsons, and chanted against the occupation. Israeli soldiers came up to them behind the fence and told them to get out of here, this is not a lawful protest. This inspired rigorous chants of "The occupation is not lawful!" The soldiers warned them a final time, threatening to shoot tear gas at them, but the crowd remained. Firas Badr, whose father is a martyr and his mother a prisoner, was dragged away by the IOF after a slight confrontation when the soldiers starting spraying mace directly into the eyes of the protesters. A small protest was held for him a couple of days ago yet he remains incarcerated in Ofer.
Recently as Israel continues with its dignified policy of collective punishment, hundreds of women was arrested from the village of Awarta on suspicion of harboring any information regarding the murder of the settler family in the very well protected colony of Itmar. A six year old got kicked in the process, but life told her to suck it up because she's a Palestinian. They were forced to sign documents in Hebrew, a language they don't know. But it's all democratic, y'know?
Prisoners are subjected to surprise raids by Israeli forces, usually carried out on the pretext of looking for illegal objects kept in cells (a razor? marijuana? an atomic bomb?) but of course it is meant as another kind of trauma inflicted upon the prisoners.
Here's one such raid, a few years ago.

Shlomi Cohen grades the operation a ten out of ten. Mohammad Ashqar died from a head wound in that operation. Excellent work guards, are you all pumped up and renewed with motivation?
"The tougher conditions will remain because this is the only way we can keep you inside." For serial killers, rapists, and psychotics, sure. But show us an unbiased legal trial and sentence and we'll show you a cow that farts rainbows.

Avi Dichter, Egg on Your Face?
WALTHAM, MA -- Members of Brandeis Students for Justice in Palestine (BSJP) disrupted a panel discussion of six Members of the Israeli Knesset tonight at Brandeis University.
The action targeted MK Avi Dicther, an international war criminal wanted for crimes against humanity and violations of the Geneva Convention. Dichter ordered the tortures of detained Palestinians while he served as head of Shabak, the Israeli Intelligence Services. In July 2002, Dichter ordered the assassination of a Hamas commander by dropping a one-ton bomb on his home in a residential area, causing the deaths of 15 people, including 9 children, and injuring dozens more.
When Dicther spoke, a dozen Brandeis students stood and demanded that he turn himself in to authorities, distributing warrants for his arrest. In English and in Hebrew, the students listed charges against Dichter, including torture and the bombing of civilians. They ended their disruption by chanting in Hebrew "Don't worry Avi Dicther, we'll meet you in the Hague."
The action aimed to alert the Brandeis community to the presence of a war criminal on campus. "We believe that Avi Dichter must be put to trial for his crimes against humanity," said participant Liza Behrendt.
Participant Paraska Tolan stated, "War criminals have a right to speak on our campus, but students also have the right to hold them publicly accountable for their crimes. This serves as a message that Dichter should not feel welcome, even at Brandeis University."
Lisa Hanania, a Palestinian student at Brandeis, said that she was extremely disturbed by the racist comments from some of the MKs. "MK Tzipi Hotovely claimed that 'Arabs have a different D.N.A that lacks humanity'. As a citizen of state, I am concerned that Israel is sliding into an openly racist ethnocracy."
Noam Lekach, a first-year from Israel, stated, "Brandeis claims to promote social justice, but today they invited legislators who openly espouse racist attitudes towards Palestinians."
The students emphasize that, although they targeted Dichter specifically, all MKs should be held accountable for recent racist legislation such as the "Loyalty Oath," the criminalization of Nakba commemoration, and the institutionalization of residential discrimination.
This is amazing to see, and refurbishes our belief that ten years from now, things will be much, much brighter. Good Jews, we really do admire you guys, for seeing the truth and working for justice even in the situation of being brought up your whole lives heavily (or moderately) indoctrinated by family and friends about the necessity of having a Jewish homeland supported by military occupation.
Too bad the same thing can't be said about Israeli Jews here, who are flying off the fascism mark. Support the IDF, revoke Palestinian citizens of Israel rights, don't forget to hoist that proud flag of democracy. Muppets.

Israel Takes Pivotal Step Toward Peace!!
In light of Goldstone's backtracking of his discoveries in the fact-finding report filed after the Gaza war in 08/09 in which he accused Israel and Hamas of committing war crimes and for a full investigation by either sides on the issue, Israel initially accepted Goldstone's remarks and gloated to the international community that it was unshakable in its faith of being a peace-loving country with the most moral army in the world.
This morning however, Prime Minister Netanyahu addressed the Knesset in a rousing speech in which he condemned Goldstone's wavering of the mind, calling it one of the "calamities strongly driven to besmirch Israel's name through something equivalent to Alan Horowitz 's inciting perorations" and vowed to personally appoint a human rights investigative team to rebuke Goldstone's weak and contradictory op-ed in The Washington Post. His comments were received by shock and outrage, with foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman attributing Netanyahu's abnormal parley as a result of the convening of thuggish Palestinian infiltrators with menacing demeanors on Netanyahu's house. Lieberman did not bother to explicate further, as he kept up Israel's salutary tradition to blame Palestinians for any of their misfortunes without procuring the necessary evidence.
In true Ben Ali/Mubarak/Saleh fashion, Netanyahu then dismissed his whole cabinet and promised to instate a more secular rational government in its place no later than Wednesday, as he recognized that the current--now former--cabinet was not intent on peace. Verging on despotism, Netanyahu overruled the Jerusalem city council's decision to construct a thousand more homes in East Jerusalem for settlers, called for the dismantling of 50 percent of the settlements in the West Bank and Jordan Valley, and announced that he will dedicate his life to foster a breaking down of impressions between Israelis and Palestinians, which he hoped, will "lead to a just and peaceful bi-national state called Israfil." Saeb Erekat objected to this proposition, and demanded that the state be called "Falasrael".
Netanyahu's statements fired the fear in many of Israel's citizens, as protests starting from Har Homa and later escalating in all parts of the country called for the hanging of the prime minister. UN secretary general Ban Ki-Moon was left bemused at his press conference in front of a mock-up Sderot-like bomb shelter in New York, and called this a "dangerous state of discourse" for Israel. The PA's Abbashole was reportedly witnessed driving a stake through his heart, after wailing in front of a life sized portrait of Netanyahu for much of the afternoon. Palestinian and Israeli leftist youth met at Qalandia checkpoint, with Rami Essa whipping the crowd into a positive frenzy in an Egyptian rendition of "Kumbaya".
And that, folks, is what we call Tell a Lie Day.

The Only Democracy
Netanyahu, being the suave cavalier he is, made his position pretty clear on the recent revolutions in the Arab world (IRAN! RADICAL ISLAM! WON'T SOMEBODY THINK OF ISRAEL!) and openly opposed unity between Fateh and Hamas. His interview with flaky Piers Morgan is riddled with falsities and lies, and is quite telling of his opinion to the Palestinians. Basically, Palestinians should thank the lord every day for not bearing the full military brunt of Israel because of their refusal to accept it. An interim Palestinian state built on 60 percent of the West Bank is a major concession. Gaza has been growing economically at the rate of 17% or some other horseshit (we can't be bothered to read the whole thing again) and Palestinian society is represented by two halves: those who want to see the annihilation of Israel and those who are too scared to confront these would be annihilators. Jews are entitled to build settlements on their God given Jewish homeland, like please, the audacity of the international world to even consider settlements as illegal and obstructive to peace! And would somebody PLEASE stop with automatically racially profiling Palestinians as the villains of the Etmar murders and the Jerusalem bombing. Last time we heard, no one has come forward, yet that hasn't stopped the implications of dozens of Palestinians just because they're the other. Etc etc etc.
Just to showcase how Israel is the best thing in the Middle East and its flawless democratic nature, the Knesset passed a couple of controversial bills.
The Nakba Bill. Any organization that dares to even pay lip service to the Nakba violates the democratic pillars of Israel.
The "Admission Committees Law" Bill. Anyone not Jewish Israeli is not allowed to settle in the Negev. Or as Roi Moar says,"Palestinian Israelis are not allowed to live in Jewish localities built on land confiscated from them."
Other democratic bills include this one that prohibits any form of BDS activism or solidarity.
Israel has its back against the wall, which explains its increasing repressiveness and open racism. The end is nigh. Imagine ten years from now. Or five. Coexistence. Equal rights. Oooh we're all in a dither now.

Israel to Gaddafi's Rescue!

My brain has stopped functioning. I just see gigantic yellow sponges around me. Time to check in again.
Israel’s Channel 2 News last year interviewed two Israeli women of Libyan origin who claimed to be distant relatives of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.
The older of the two interviewees, Guita Brown, said she is Gaddafi’s second cousin (Brown’s grandmother was the sister of Gaddafi’s grandmother). The younger of the two women, Rachel Saada, granddaughter of Brown, explained in more detail:
“The story goes that Gaddafi’s grandmother, herself a Jewess, was married to a Jewish man at first. But he treated her badly, so she ran away and married a Muslim sheikh. Their child was the mother of Gaddafi.”
While Gaddafi’s grandmother converted to Islam when she married the sheikh, according to Jewish religious law (and common sense), she was ethnically still Jewish.
At this point the news anchor stated, “So, the point is that Gaddafi doesn’t just have Jewish relatives, he is Jewish!”
Rumors of Gaddafi’s Jewish background are nothing new. But with the current uprising in Libya that threatens to ultimately overthrow the dictator, as has happened in the neighboring countries of Tunisia and Egypt, Gaddafi may be looking for an exit strategy.
If the story told by Brown and Saada is true, Gaddafi is entitled to immigrate to Israel as a Jew under Israel’s Law of Return. Even if every other country on earth refused him entry, Israel would be obligated by its own laws to take Gaddafi in.
At the time of the interview, the anchor quipped, “I am sure there is some local authority in Israel that would be pleased to have a former president on its staff.”
No need to say emphasis is mine. I think I just drooled on my eyes.

Israel is a DEMOCRACY dammit!
Which is why hundreds of state appointed rabbis have signed a democratic letter and called on Jewish Israelis to refrain, nay to adamantly refuse renting real estate-either living or work accommodations- to Palestinians. Armed with religious nonsense, the rabbis have justified this act as a Jewish one, with biblical references mentioning the decrease of property values as a result of Mr Jew renting to Mr Arab. Wonder what else these Dan Brownesque biblical references include, something about the predictability of current stock markets?
International reaction? Zero. But if it were whites refusing to sell/rent property to blacks as was the case a few decades ago in the great US, then yes an uproar would be the least type of acknowledgement.
So, no really, we are trying to understand this belligerence. Ok, getting in the zone. Beards, bowler hats, long fingernails. Hello. We are rabid rabbis. No, not rabid, but something more euphemistic. Uh..um..zealous? Zealous rabbis. Who believe in some religious doctrine that dictates the superiority of one people over all other humans in the world. And that to defend that special feeling, we must...be even more zealous. And make up laws and rules to suit our self interests, because it's all for the greater good. We cannot blame people for not being who we are, so we must rid their infiltrating presence because it serves to remind us that we did not settle on a land without a people. We are merely acting out God's will. God came to us in the form of a dogmatist enrobed in a white rose tinged flowing material and ordered us to do so. The Jews must feel protected and secure, therefore we must keep our promise to our brethren by...disregarding humanity and basic rights concerning the unchosen brown people? Sounds about right.
That was exhausting. How do these rabbis manage to live like that? Note, we are not lumping all Jews into one xenophobic spoon, we're way too educated for that. And of course these rabbis (which we have just spelt rabies accidentally for the 4th time) do not represent nor reflect the moral values of other humane Jews and rabbis. Every religion has its own batch of extremist wing nuts, but these rabies DAMMIT rabbis are municipal chief rabbis, not some comforting harmless religious figures. Oh, a few rabbis that have held on to reason refused to sign rabid letter yay, stating:
"There are things that should not be done; what if there would be a similar call in Berlin against renting properties to Jews? Where is the public conscience? What will this do to Jews around the world? We must act responsibly."
and
"This ruling is a serious distortion of the Torah, and contradicts basic human morality."

Soldier Shaking it Like Fefe Abdo
Most moral army in the world who employs fresh out of high school greens to keep the brown insolent Palestinians under control. Here we have one Palestinian woman, handcuffed and blindfolded, huddling next to a wall, while a hilarious soldier dances around her.

"They began beating me with rifle butts and legs. One of the soldiers hit my head against the metal of the military jeep until I fainted. Then I found myself in front of a female doctor wearing military uniform. After examining me they moved me to the interrogation center where my journey of torture and humiliation started.
"The officer’s name who began to interrogate me was Beran. He threatened to demolish my family home and arrest my siblings, the interrogation lasted for two hours. After that I was transferred with my eyes blindfolded to another interrogation center, I think it was the Russian compound, where there were three interrogators.
"Soon after I came in they began insulting and cursing using words I do not want to say. One of the interrogators was pulling me from my hair. I was handcuffed the whole time. The interrogation lasted until 11 at night, then they transferred me to Hasharon prison where they accused me of trying to stab someone, and of affiliation with the Islamic Jihad. Lawyers from the prisoners' society defended me and I was sentenced to 22 months in prison. I was released on 6 September 2009."

We first saw this a few months ago and subsequently vomited up everything in our system for three consecutive days. Now, we've decided to post it only to point out the substandard acting of the two goons partaking in this sorry mess. More like, how Israel uses sex sex and more sex to promote its tourist industry. Come to Israel frat boys! We have Israeli--exclusively Jewish of course-- bitches who are willing to get down on their knees for you all the time! We have beaches! We have sun! We have bronzed gods and goddesses who walk among us! Just be sure to use the highways we have designated for you, lest you make a wrong turn and end up in some ghetto Palestinian neighborhood, where men stone you for inappropriate dressing and shrieking (that's ululating, to get technical) women send their bomb-strapped sons after you! Just stick to Tel Aviv and you'll be fine. Eh, what about Gaza you say? Hey, you HAVE to go to Jerusalem, where our colonialist powers are displayed brazenly for all to see. See this beautiful ancient neighborhood? Arabs were trespassing for decades, unwittingly thinking they have the right to live in the houses, but we got a court order and now its pure Israeli baby! Don't forget to visit Yad Vashem, it's amazing how amazing we became from our not so amazing past, the victims of the Holocaust and vicious Anti-Semitism, persecution, racism etc. Palestinians?
